Galapagos, with it's headquarters in Mechelen, Belgium, has developed a target discovery platform that provides novel starting points for drug and antibody therapies, thereby addressing the industry's need for innovative, disease-modifying medicines. The Company's product portfolio consists mainly of new mode-of-action drugs in bone and joint diseases as well as programs in bone metastasis and cachexia. To enable the progression of a broad portfolio of programs, Galapagos has established risk sharing alliances with big pharma companies such as Johnson and Johnson, GlaxoSmithkline and Roche, and Janssen Pharmaceutica, in specific disease areas.
